Envelope Budget by Vima

Delete your account

You can delete your Envelope Budget by Vima account, published by 30 South LLC, at any time. Deleting it removes your account and all of your budget and bank data.

Delete it in the app

  1. Open Envelope Budget on iPhone, iPad, Android, or the web at app.vimabudget.com.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Under Account, choose Delete account.
  4. If you use two-step verification, enter a code from your authenticator app when asked, then confirm.

Or ask us by email

If you can't sign in, email support@vimabudget.com from the email address on your account and ask us to delete it. We'll delete your account within 30 days and may ask you to confirm the request from that address.

What gets deleted

Right away:

  • your account, email address, and password;
  • your groups, envelopes, transactions, splits, and rules;
  • your linked banks and their accounts and balances;
  • your authenticators and signed-in sessions.

We also tell Plaid to remove your bank connections at the same time. If Plaid can't be reached, we keep retrying automatically until it confirms, and keep only the encrypted token needed to do that.

What we keep for a limited time

These records stay after your account is deleted, and are deleted when their time runs out:

  • Security record of bank links, unlinks, and deletions: a random user id, the event, the bank's name, and Plaid's id for the connection, with no email or transactions. Kept for [DECIDE: 1 year].
  • Sign-in security log: your email address, IP addresses, and sign-in events. Kept for [DECIDE: 90 days].
  • Database backups: a copy of the database as it was. Kept for [CONFIRM: backup retention].
  • Hosting logs: IP addresses, requests, and error codes. Kept for [CONFIRM: log retention].
  • Privacy requests and our replies: your email and the request. Kept for 24 months.
  • Plaid removal queue: the encrypted bank token, only until Plaid confirms each connection is removed.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription bought through Apple or Google. Cancel it in your Apple account settings or in Google Play so you aren't charged again.
